Nice write-up on your own work in there — you manage to publicise yourself without coming across as self-aggrandising or pushy. I think it’s the English self-depreciation that does it 😉

I’ve started thinking about promotion as generosity: giving people access to something they’ll enjoy or find useful (in your case, I guess that would be reading! In mine, web design). That way the publicity tends to be less pushy and more sincere — providing you believe in what you’re promoting, it works well.
