Beautiful scenes indeed. I don’t know if you’ve seen the
final instalment of Frozen Planet with David Attenborough, but I blogged about
it recently.
Frozen Planet told us that at the rate at which the sea-ice
is melting, (30% of the ice melted away between 1980 and 2010) the North Pole
could be open water by as soon as 2020. I find this, and the impact that it
will have on our wider planet, very alarming. However, I strongly believe that
Frozen Planet is a tool that can open people’s minds to this problem across the
world. You can see my blog about this here: http://www.theraceison.co.uk/blog/index.php/2011/12/08/frozen-planets-look-at-our-warming-planet/
Yeah, I caught the last episode – I thought it was very well put together. Tackled climate change in a non-nonsense, honest way – also, it was important that a mainstream program dealt with the science, pure and simple, given all the deliberate nonsense being spread by deniers.

Let’s hope people start to take note!
