Disaster Map

In case you wanted to know where any kind of disaster is in the world. All sorts of hazards for the morbidly curious. Actually quite interesting, after you get over the paranoia of how fragile things are. And if you are that type of person you might find yourself the lead character in this.

Note that the map hasn’t yet recorded having Gordon Brown and a Labour party government leading the country listed as an official disaster. I understand things are now getting too detailed for the map to represent fully.

I fear we’re going to need more than a change of government to solve the current political mess. A hung parliament, resulting in some kind of alliance – and leading to the long-fabled proportional representation and ultimately consensus politics – is what I’m hoping for…

I don’t know. Getting rid of this psychology where throwing endless amounts of taxpayer’s money at projects without improving them – would be a start. Devolving power so that there is more local autonomy. Less state control. Less red tape. I suppose it would be too much to ask for some better manners on the street, too.

The sooner Brown’s out, the better.
