Someone has far too much time on their hands. I hope none of you are this pernickety.

About Mark Newton

Born in 1981, live in the UK. I write about strange things.

  1. Pretty cool! Wish I had the space to organise mine properly, to be honest. As it is, every shelf has two rows of books (one in front of the other) and others balanced on top. This is better than at previous home where there were just teetering stacks on every available square foot of floor, like some hoarder from a TV documentary.

Have accumulated a load of softcover ‘swapsies’ as well due to uncontrollable hardcover buying online, so I think I’m going to end up giving them away to whoever wants ’em at the next signing I go to…

  2. I’ve got about one shelf of my stuff, and then the rest of the shelves are, to be honest, a complete mess! Hardcovers next to paperbacks, nothing is logical.

  3. I have organised mine by colour in the past and it is brilliant but very hard to maintain. I’ve now reverted to alphabetical but when I move house and get some customised shelves fitted, I will go back to colour. I can’t wait.

  4. One of the only things stopping me from the colour categorisation is the Gollancz Fantasy Masterworks – they’d be split across the shelves, which would annoy me.
