Hours spent trawling the internet can produce good things – I found Jamie Jones’ website last night. There are some very strongly portrayed characters here, a lovely use of light, and the dude gives good monster. He also does a lot of concept work, which seems to put bread on the table for a lot of artists these days. Each of the pictures links to his portfolio.

Oh that’s beautiful. And with the snow, and the slight sense of uncanny in the style, makes me think he’d do a very good scene from Villjamur.
Now there’s a thought!
Perhaps not the best pic for sunny day, but it’s rather nice.
Very cool 🙂
Love the hydra.
Love this term: “the dude gives good monster”.
Mark – yeah, that’s particularly impressive. Love the way it blends into the sky in quite a god-like manner.
Michael – heh, well, he does. 🙂
Nice. I may link to this guy too. It’s about time I put more art on my blog.
The river behind the knight is exquisite. The lighting of that piece is just amazing. If only all fantasy covers looked this nice…
Hey Mark, if you’re into great creature/monster art, check out an artist named Keith Thompson. I’ve spent weeks browsing his website, and the cool thing about his art is that he has semi-prosaic descriptions of the history behind the beasty and why it is that way. I’d highly recommend the Undead section on his website.
