Being published by Pan Macmillan has many perks such as whisky and free books. I hassled my editor, Julie, when I saw that they were rejacketing the Don DeLillo backlist, and today she sent me the new copies, which feature amazing cover designs.
Long-term readers of the blog will know I’m a big fan of Don DeLillo’s works. He’s certainly one of my favourite writers. I’ve written reviews of Point Omega and Falling Man, though Underworld is probably my favourite of his novels, and was the point where I realised I’d probably enjoy reading a menu if it was written by him.
The new cover art seems to be very appropriate for his work, which is a difficult thing to even begin to explain, so I won’t, I’ll just fawn over the nice, chunky designs instead. Meanwhile, if you’ve not read any of Don DeLillo’s books, I recommend you do – pick up either White Noise or Libra, then if you’re hooked, move on to Underworld. Take a browse of his titles on the Pan Mac site.

Ashamed to say I’ve never read any DeLillo. Those covers though are brilliant. I love really simple, stark designs when done well.
Nice covers. Very nice indeed!
Should really get around to actually reading his books now. 🙂
Yes, both of you get to it! White Noise is a good start. Work your way through to Underworld, though. It’ll be worth it in the end.
Astonishing work…and for a leviathan writer…
