This kind of schema convinces me that our brains don’t work anymore as “theirs” did (how old is that?). It seems just a tad confusing 🙂
And yet, for the most part, we still mimic their style. I was reading a book on building Roman cities, recently, and the structure of a house is still very much the same, even before you look at the more flamboyant styles such as above.
Also: they planned cities a lot more rigorously than seems to go on today! Mind you, they probably had more room, too.
